For Day Trippers and All Nighters
Eastern Newfoundland offers may vacations in one. As you head outside St. John’s the ever-changing vistas of the Avalon, Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas promise scenic coastal roads, cozy outport towns, barrens and moors, steep cliffs, river estuaries, rugged coastlines and dramatic headlands.
Circumnavigate the Avalon Peninsula on a road trip that will never bore or take your time and spend the night in hotels and B & Bs that dot the coastline along the way.
Take a 3½ hour excursion from St. John’s to the historic Bonavista Peninsula where John Cabot first made landfall in the New World in 1497. Or, head south to the Burin Peninsula, to an entirely different part of Newfoundland both in geography and outlook. Everything from its dialect and its dances to its architecture and landscape is different. Either way, as you visit the Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas you will find no two towns are the same. Along the way stop for sea kayaking, bird watching and fishing. There’s something for everyone; all just 3 ½ hours from St. John’s.
